Week Three of High School Football Full of Excitement

Week three schedule of High School Football was all over the place due to heavy rain that was forecast throughout the region. Some teams moved their games up one day and play on Thursday while others moved to Saturday. Most teams decided to chance it and played as scheduled on Friday night.

Bluegrass Sports Nation’s game of the week featured a pair of 2-0 teams with Knott Central and home team Perry Central. The game did not pan out to be the great matchup everyone hoped for, as Perry Central prevailed over the Patriots 57-19. Perry Central ran the ball for 588 yards led by Jayden Neace with 24 carries for a total of 297 yards and 3 touchdowns. Jacob Woolum also carried the ball 12 times for 167 yards and 3 scores. PCC has now accumulated 172 points in 3 games for a 57.3 points per game for Coach Larkey.

In other action in the BSN coverage area, Belfry (1-1) defeated Bryan Station 40-19. Bath County squeaked by Powell (0-3) 32-27. Bell (3-0) defeated Pike Central 47-26 while Paintsville (2-1) fell to Hurricane WV 17-13.  Johnson Central (2-0) defeated Henry Clay 40-28 and Magoffin (1-2) pulled off their first win with a 36-24 score over East Ridge. Clay County kept Middlesboro (0-3) winless eeking out a 30-29 win. Floyd Central (3-0) continued to impress with a 28-6 win over the winless Breathitt Bobcats. Corbin (3-0) continued their run towards a State title with a 36-7 win over Pulaski County. Hazard (2-0) built on their week 1 win as they defeated Letcher Central 42-12. Prestonsburg (0-2) continued their search for their first win with a disappointing loss to Lawrence County 37-32.
