Forward from Little Washington, North Carolina will not hire an agent
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men basketball freshman forward Bam Adebayo announced Wednesday that he plans to submit his name for the 2017 NBA Draft but will not hire an agent. So long as Adebayo does not hire an agent, he will have until May 24 (10 days after the NBA Draft Combine) to make a final decision as to whether he wishes to remain in the draft or return to Kentucky. Perry Central vs Pikeville 3-15-17
Both Perry Central and Pikeville, Mountain teams, entered Rupp Arena with dreams of a State Championship. Both teams came out sluggish to start the game and the nervousness showed as both committed careless turnovers and missed easy shots. Midway through the first quarter the teams settled in and started to run their offenses a little smoother. Pikeville had a hard time getting shots off as PCC’s big men contested everything near the rim. Pikeville would hold a one point lead after the 1st quarter 9-8. Nashville, TN – In the semi-final round of the SEC tournament, Kentucky got off to a rocky start as Alabama took an early 9-2 lead. The Wildcats had four turnovers and only one basket in the first four minutes of play. Sophomore guard Isaiah Briscoe had two fouls less than three minutes into the game and had to take a seat on the bench, which didn’t help. A Big Blue packed house at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee witnessed the Kentucky Wildcats put down the Georgia Bulldogs for a third time this season. The 71-60 win was a good start for Kentucky in this 2017 SEC tournament. The Wildcats had steady play from two of their three-backcourt players. Both Isaiah Briscoe and DeAron Fox each had 20 points to lead the Cats, while the third member Malik Monk struggled for the second game in a row. Monk had scored in double figures in 29 straight games, before he failed to reach the double-digit mark in the last two. Jackson, KY. The Finals of the 14th Region Boys Tournament, between the Perry County Central Commodores and the Knott County Central Patriots was a game that will be talked about for years to come. Regional Finals are an exciting time in the Bluegrass, the arenas are packed to capacity and excitement is absurd for all people involved. Perry County Central entered the Regional Tournament as the prohibitive favorite and are the winners of the 54th District Tournament. Tonight’s 14th Region High School Basketball action at Breathitt County High School consisted of two quality games. The first contest was the Letcher County Central Cougars taking on the Perry Central Commodores. This game was an amazing battle between two of the top teams in the 14th Region.
