Cincinnati, OH – The Bears traveled to Cincinnati hoping to build on their two preseason wins against a Bengals team that looked flat in their last preseason game, a 25-11 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Cincinnati would hold the listless Bears on their first series. After a punt, the Bengals marched the ball down the field against a lost Bears defense.

Andy Dalton hit on 6 of 6 passes for 52 yards before diving in for the touchdown on a quarterback keeper. The Bears, playing without 4 wide receivers, never had a pass play more than 16 yards downfield. Cutler did finish 13-17 for 98 yards but most of that came on the Bears last drive before the half that lead to a Robbie Gould field goal. The Bears wanted to run the ball but the Bengals were keyed in on them and nullified the run game.

AJ McCarron came in to replace an injured Dalton and preceded to go 6 for his first 6 and lead the Bengals to two more scores. The Bengals made it look easy as they ran and threw the ball with ease. Jeremy Hill led a rushing attack that had 145 yards and Hill’s one touchdown. The Bengals also tallied 188 yards passing led by Marvin Jones touchdown reception.

The Bengals accomplished a lot of what they wanted to while the Bears took several steps backwards. Cincinnati finishes up the preseason with a trip to Indianapolis Thursday.
