Coming in to last night’s game Pikeville had dropped two consecutive games. Although most teams would be scrambling to find what the problem is, the Pikeville Panthers understood that the competition they were playing is elite. They played right with Class 3A powerhouse Belfry and traveled across state lines to take on a West Virginia monster in Point Pleasant. Pikeville stayed in both of those games through all four quarters. In fact, they had a chance to take the lead on Point Pleasant with 20 seconds remaining. In tonight’s gridiron battle of Class 2A, 7th District, the Breathitt County Bobcats (3-3) traveled to Estill County to play the Estill County Engineers (2-3). Breathitt County is a team that is red hot, playing their best football of the season. Breathitt County started the season 0-3 competing against some of the biggest schools and most successful programs in the area. Riverside traveled to Douthitt park to take on the Breathitt Bobcats in Soccer Action Wednesday Night. The Rams led by Seniors Haylee Badarak & Goalie Wesley Voth defeated Breathitt 5-1. Badarak had 3 goals for the Rams who improved to 3-7 while the Bobcats fell to 0-11. Scoring for the Rams were Badarak with 3 goals, Paul Champ with a goal, Avery Voth with a goal, Josh Petty 2 assists & Brooklyn Hurt 1 assists. Goalie Wesley Voth had 4 saves and allowed 1 goal.

RICHMOND, Ky. – The 2018 EKU Basketball Halloween Hoopfest will be held Wednesday, October 24 at Alumni Coliseum.
The Halloween component to the night’s festivities will begin in the evening, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. on the concourse level near the natatorium. Inflatables will be available in the Fred Darling Auxiliary Gym, as well as games and candy provided by the EKU Parks and Recreation department. Free pizza will also be available while supplies last.
