Ohio State has a winning percentage of over .800 in St. John Arena
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s basketball game against Wagner on Nov. 22 will be played at St. John Arena on campus. Game time and TV assignment for the game will be announced at a later date.
“I’m really excited to be playing a game this year in St. John Arena,” said head coach Kevin McGuff. “It’s an iconic building not only on the campus of The Ohio State University but also in the great state of Ohio. There is a legacy of great players who have played at St. John Arena and I’m looking forward to treating our fans to a game in one of the historic venues in college basketball.”
The Buckeyes began playing in St. John Arena in the 1974-75 season and have an all-time winning percentage of .801. OSU has won 261 games and has lost just 65 in over 27 seasons in the arena.
Since moving its home games to Value City Arena prior to the 1998-99 season, Ohio State has played 22 games in St. John Arena. The Buckeye Classic, which was played during the early 2000s, was held annually in SJA. The last game the Buckeyes played in St. John Arena was a 78-53 victory over Winthrop on Nov. 17, 2012. Ameryst Alston, who was a freshman at the time, scored four points and had two steals in the win.
The game will be included in the season ticket package for the 2015-16 season. Single game tickets will go on sale later this fall. Contact the Ohio State ticket office for more details. Call 1-800-GOBUCKS or email AthleticSales@osu.edu to speak with an account executive.
