MAUMEE – One man and one woman are facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 226 pounds of marijuana, worth approximately $1,130,000 following a traffic stop in Lucas County.

Troopers stopped a 2014 Coachmen Motorhome, with no visible registration, for marked lanes and registration violations on the Ohio Turnpike, near milepost 53, at8:54 a.m., on September 11. Criminal indicators were observed and a Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed the contraband.

The driver, Jianming Liu, 49, of Renton, Wash., and passenger, Muhua Hu, 43, of Seattle, Wash., were incarcerated in the Lucas Jail and charged with possession and trafficking in marijuana, both second-degree felonies.

If convicted, each could face up to 16 years in prison and up to a $30,000 fine.
