The trooper stopped some distance away and attempted to negotiate with the man.  He specified that this individual’s hands were behind his back and he refused to bring them into plain view.  The man began making threats to kill the trooper and started bringing his right arm around in an aggressive manor in the direction of this trooper, and another trooper who had just arrived to assist.  The trooper who had engaged the man fired three shots, striking him at least two times, ending the conflict.  Troopers attempted to provide medical aid to the man but he died before EMS arrived.
