(Watts, KY) – Kentucky State Police Post 13 is investigating a shooting incident in the Watts community of Breathitt County. KSP dispatchers received a call at around 8:30 p.m., Monday evening, advising that a man had been shot during an altercation with another man. Post 13 troopers and detectives, along with Arrow Med EMS responded to the scene on Marie Roberts Road.
Investigators spoke with witnesses at the scene and determined that Drury Walters and William Noble had been involved in a verbal disagreement when the situation turned physical. During the struggle both men fell causing a hand gun, which was being carried by William Noble, to discharge. Drury Walters was struck once in the side and was transported to the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson for medical treatment. He was later flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition.
William Noble turned himself in to investigators at the scene without incident. He has been charged with one count of Assault 1st Degree and remains lodged in the Three Forks Regional Jail. Detective Jeff Browning with KSP Post 13 is continuing this investigation.
