High School Football – Who is playing Who tonight?

Bluegrass Sports News will be out and about in force tonight as all 13 teams in our coverage area will be playing. Below is a quick overview of games to be played tonight.
Teams in BSN coverage area:
(Powell County, Estill County, Prestonsburg, Johnson Central, Breathitt County, Letcher Central, Leslie County, Perry Central, Corbin, Morgan, Knott Central, Magoffin County & Hazard)

Estill County 3A (0-2) at Boyd County 4A (2-0) Estill is off to a rough start with two blowout losses to Paintsville 58-0 and Western Hills 50-15. Things do not get any easier as the Engineers travel to Boyd County.

Prestonsburg 2A (0-2) at Breathitt County 3A (0-3) The Bobcats looked to be back on track against Floyd Central and hope to carry that momentum over to their home game with Prestonsburg. (PREVIEW ARTICLE HERE)

Perry Central 5A (3-0) at Clay County 4A (1-2) The Commodores travel to Clay County in a game that Coach Canady says it may be the toughest contest so far this season. Jayden Neace leads the State in Rushing. (PREVIEW ARTICLE HERE)

Beechwood 1A (2-0) at Corbin 3A (3-0) Corbin may have the toughest early schedule of any team. They have opened with 3 tough games which includes Whitley County, Danville and Pulaski. Next up for the Redhounds is 1A State Champions Beechwood. Playing a tough schedule can only help the Corbin Redhounds when the 3A Playoffs start.

South Laurel 5A (2-1) at Leslie County 2A (0-3) Leslie County is off to a tough start and finally get a chance to play at home after 3 straight road losses.

Betsy Layne 2A (0-3) at Magoffin 3A (1-2) Magoffin looks to build on their first win, a shutout win over East Ridge. Magoffin host a Betsy Layne team that is having their own struggles opening their season with 3 straight losses.

South Charleston WV at Johnson Central 4A (1-1) Johnson Central play it’s 2nd game against an out of State opponent, losing their first game to Capital WV.  Johnson Central is once again a favorite to make the trip to the State Finals.

Hazard 1A (2-0) at Somerset 2A (2-1). Hazard travels to play Somerset with a chance to go 3-0. Somerset took their first loss to 1A reigning Champions Beechwood. (PREVIEW ARTICLE HERE)

Letcher Central 5A (0-3) at Union (Powell Valley) VA. LCC is off to a terrible start and the schedule doesn’t improve for them. Letcher still has to face Pike Central, Perry Central, Floyd Central Harlan Co. & Whitley County.

Lawrence County 3A (2-1) at Powell County 3A (2-1) Powell County looks to rebound after suffering their first loss at Bath County. New Coach Joshua Kincaid is doing a great job as first year coach.

Morgan County 3A (1-1) at Mason County 4A (1-2) Morgan County travels to 4A Mason in hopes of getting their 2nd win of the season after beating Jenkins 44-0 at home.

Knott Central 3A (1-2) at Shelby Valley 2A (2-1) Knott County is looking for a 2nd win after a Good then Bad half at home against the Commodores of PCC. The Patriots trailed PCC 13-12 at the half and kept PCC RB Jayden Neace out of the end zone. The second half was just the opposite as KCC did not score. Knott County is looking for more of the first half team they were against PCC.
