It’s hard to believe that Week 3 is already upon us in High School football with some very good matchups this weekend.
Some teams are off to a slow start and looking for their first win while others hope to remain undefeated. Here is a look at each game for Friday August 31st, 2018.
Floyd Central 2-0 @ Breathitt County 0-2 in the Annual Honey Bowl. Breathitt is looking for their first win and hope to hand Floyd Central their first loss. (Preview Article Here)

Carter 31-27 last week. Powell is led, of course, by Running Back Nathan Skidmore with 54 carries for 473 yards and 5 touchdowns, 4 on the ground.

0-1 East Ridge travels to 0-2 Magoffin County. Magoffin has been led in their 2 defeats by running back Brady Whitaker who has compiled 25 carries for 243 yards and a score. Magoffin has started off slower than Coach Combs would have liked but look to get back on track Friday.
0-2 Jenkins travels to 0-1 Morgan. With both teams coming off tough losses, something will have to give in this contest as one team will remain winless while the other will get their first win. Morgan is coming off a disappointing loss to Rowan County and hopes being at home will give them the edge for their first win.
2-0 Corbins travels to 1-1 Pulaski County. Corbin continues it’s tough schedule after big wins over Whitley and Danville. Corbin’s air attack seems to be gaining speed as QB Chase Estep has thrown for 416 yards on 25-38 passing and 5 touchdowns. Estep also carried the ball 20 times for 168 yards and a score against Danville.
Estep has been aided by Christian Gosselin who has 3 carries for 54 yards and a score and also 10 receptions for 154 yards and 4 touchdowns. Jacob Steely also ran the ball 7 times for 96 yards and a score against Whitley County.
0-2 Leslie County travels to 1-1 Williamsburg. Leslie County looks to get in the win column Friday night and will be led by QB Zack Parker who has thrown for 20 of 38 for 332 yards and one score. Parker will be helped on offense by Taten Smith who has carried the ball 13 times for 101 yards and 1 touchdowns. When Parker throws the ball he will have Dylon Adams, 3 catches for 104 yards and a score and Luke Lewis with 4 catches for 104 yards.
