High School Football Playoffs getting interesting

The 2016 High School Football season is rapidly coming to a close. Most teams expected to win and make it deep in to the playoffs, have.


Next Friday, some epic battles will take place across the State.

In Class 1A, 12-1 Russelleville is at 12-1 Beechwood. On the other side of the Class 1A Bracket, 13-0 Paintsville, the top team all season, is at 11-2 Hazard. (BSN Picks Beechwood & Paintsville)

In Class 2A, Mayfield 13-0 and the top team in the class, will play at Christian Academy – Louisville 12-1. On the other side of the 2A bracket, Holy Cross (Covington) 10-3 will travel to 11-2 Danville. (BSN Picks Mayfield & Danville)

In Class 3A, Arguably the top 2 teams in the State will face off when 12-1 Belfry travels to 12-1 Corbin in what should be one of the best contests of the Playoffs. In the other bracket, 10-3 Elizabethtown will travel to 8-5 Central. Central is peaking at the right time. (BSN Picks Belfry & Elizabeth Town)

In Class 4A, Undefeated 13-0 Franklin-Simpson travels to 9-4 John Hardin, while 11-2 Wayne County visits a tough 12-1 Johnson Central. Johnson Central is still the team to beat in the Class. (BSN Picks Franklin-Simpson & Johnson Central)

In Class 5A, Bowling Green 13-0 will travel to 11-2 Fern Creek. At this point in the season, no one has come close to knocking off Bowling Green, It will be a tough road test for Bowling Green but they should advance. Finally in Class 6A, 11-2 Scott County will play at 12-1 Lafayette while 10-3 St. Xavier will play at undefeated and top dog 13-0 Trinity (Louisville). (BSN Picks Scott County & Trinity)
