High School Football – Hazard’s magical run comes to an end

Hazard’s playoff run took them to the State Championship and early on looked as if they were going to pull it all off. Hazard jumped out to a 7-0 1st quarter lead when Cory Smith ran the ball in from 7 yards out. Beechwood would take the momentum away with two 2nd quarter scores for a 14-7 halftime lead. 

COMPLETE STATS

Aiden Justice would scamper 17 yards for a touchdown. Then  Trevor Soward would punch it in from 1 yard out for Beechwood’s first lead of the game. Hazard would tie the game at 14 when Braxton Whitaker caught a 9 yard pass from Bailey Blair. Beechwood would claim the final lead of the game when Trevor Soward again punched the ball in from 1 yard out for a 21-14 lead. Hazard would come up short and turn the ball over on downs their final drive.
