(LONDON, KY.) – On Tuesday, October 07, 2014 at approximately 9:45 PM, the Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received a report of a fatal two vehicle traffic crash on US HWY 27 at the intersection ofJobCorp Hill RD in McCreary County.
Upon arrival Accident Reconstructionist Trooper Delzie Kelly determined that a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer operated by Shea A. Coffey, 29, of Stearns was traveling northbound on US 27 when he crossed over the center-line and struck a 2002 Buick Le Sabre that was traveling southbound operated by Palace O. Anderson, 68, of Strunk.
Palace Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene by the McCreary County Coroner’s Office.
The Passenger in the Buick Le Sabre Samuel L. Anderson, 47, of Strunk was air lifted from the scene and taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
Shea Coffey was air lifted from the scene and taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he is receiving treatment for his injuries.
None of the persons involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
Trooper Kelly continues the investigation and was assisted at the scene by Trooper Edward Jones, Trooper Wendell Higginbotham, McCreary County Sheriff’s Office, Pine Knot Fire Department and McCrearyCounty EMS.
