RICHMOND, Ky. – Adam Lane, who was named the MVP of the 2015 Birmingham Bowl while playing at the University of Florida, has joined the Eastern Kentucky University football team. Lane, will be eligible to play immediately and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
The 5-foot-7, 224-pound running back rushed for 109 yards on 16 carries and scored a touchdown as a redshirt freshman in Florida’s 28-20 victory over East Carolina in the Birmingham Bowl on Jan. 3, 2015. He finished fourth on the team with 181 yards on the ground last season, averaging 7.5 yards on 24 carries.

Lane got his first look at the EKU program when the Colonels visited The Swamp on Nov. 22. In that game, the Winter Haven, Florida native ran for a game-high 60 yards on five carries.
Lane was a three-star recruit in Florida’s 2013 signing class.
The Colonels will be back at Roy Kidd Stadium for their first full scrimmage of preseason camp on Saturday at 7:30 a.m.
