College Football – EKU – FIRST STATS FCS POLL PUTS EKU NO. 17 IN THE NATION

NEW YORK – Eastern Kentucky University’s football team is ranked No. 17 in the nation in the STATS FCS Top 25 preseason poll, released on Monday.

Eastern begins the 2015 campaign at home against Valparaiso on Sept. 3 at 7 p.m.  Season tickets are on sale now.  To purchase season tickets, please call the EKU Ticket Office at 859-622-2122.

EKUColonelLogoEKU was also ranked No. 17 in the FCS Coaches Poll that was released last week.

The Colonels are coming off a 9-4 season that included a victory at FBS Miami (Ohio) and a trip to the FCS Playoffs.  Eight offensive starters and eight defensive starters return from that team.

Three 2015 opponents are ranked or receiving votes in the preseason poll.  Jacksonville State is seventh, Eastern Illinois is just outside the top 25 with 431 total points and Tennessee State received one point.
