BRENDON D. MILLER – Camen Media – March 19, 2015 – LOUISVILLE
The competition to determine the CATS next victim was a low-scoring nip and tuck affair
between the 8 seed Cincinnati Bearcats and the 9 seed Purdue Boilermakers that had to go an extra
period to be decided. Neither team could gain a foothold throughout the game as points were a
premium and the largest lead by either team was 7. Purdue led 29 to 26 at the half, and Cincy put up 33
points in the second half to Purdue’s 30. Troy Caupain made a layup at the buzzer to send the game to
overtime at 59 – 59. Cincinnati outscored Purdue 7 to 6 in the overtime to post the final margin.
