Sometimes the stars can align just right, leaving what is seemingly a wide open path to a land that you have never visited before.

You can’t help but wonder if that is exactly what UK Hoops is thinking right now after they took care of Oklahoma Monday night in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. How often is it that you can play the first 2 rounds on your home court, then advance to the sweet 16 to play on your other home court?

College Basketball – Womens – Thompson Leads UK Hoops Over Missouri on Senior Night

The 2015-16 version of UK Hoops honored only 1 senior on Thursday night against the Missouri Tigers, and that senior, Janee Thompson, came through in a big way with a career high 24 points to lead the Wildcats to a 69-59 victory.

After an exhilarating come back victory against Tennessee at home on January 25th, UK Hoops have struggled to find the winning column since. Losing to unranked Vanderbilt, #22 Florida, and #2 South Carolina, the Wildcats needed something good to happen for them when they returned home to face a struggling LSU team. For the last half decade, the series between has UK Hoops and Louisville has been one sided. The 2015 version of this in-state rivalry added to that trend as Kentucky defeated the Cards 72-54 in front of 14,425 fans in Rupp Arena. By: Tyrus York – Coming off a big early season win against a top 15 opponent on the road in Arizona State, the UK Hoops team welcomed Morehead State into Memorial Coliseum Wednesday night after the short turnaround.  Keeping the momentum going and avoiding a letdown, the Cats cruised to a big win, 112-57, getting off to a 3-0 start for the season. By: Tyrus York – It was a rough start for UK Hoops as they opened their season against Rice in Memorial Coliseum on Friday night.  Forget the fact that the normally very well attended game was undercut by a men’s game playing simultaneously in Rupp Arena, the Cats were hitting the floor without their best player in Makayla Epps as she winds down her suspension from off the court issues over the summer.
