For 41 seconds, Texas A&M was excited and confident. UK missed their first shot and the Aggies came down the court and drained a trey, just 41 seconds in. Then they got the full thrust of the young Cats scoring ability as UK would tear off 15 unanswered points for a 15-3 lead. Bluegrass Sports Nation was once again in the Jungle Sunday as the Baltimore Ravens visited the Cincinnati Bengals. Mike Cyrus spent the afternoon covering the game for BSN. Although Cincinnati had a disappointing season, they did close things out with a season ending home win against division rivals, The Baltimore Ravens. If you had any doubts what kind of game this would be, you had your answer by the end of the first half. UK led at the break 56-51. Malik Monk has piled on the points for UK and both teams had players in foul trouble throughout the game. North Carolina, the nations top offensive rebounding teams has been held in check as UK kept a small advantage on the offensive glass. Hazard’s playoff run took them to the State Championship and early on looked as if they were going to pull it all off. Hazard jumped out to a 7-0 1st quarter lead when Cory Smith ran the ball in from 7 yards out. Beechwood would take the momentum away with two 2nd quarter scores for a 14-7 halftime lead. UK came out hot and never looked back as they opened with a 7-0 lead and would stretch that out to as much as 25 before settling on a 56-35 halftime lead. UK would get balanced scoring from the entire team. Monk continued his hot streak from beyond the arc hitting the first four threes he attempted. Duquesne jumped out to an early 4-2 lead, but UK quickly reeled off 7 in a row for a 9-4 lead. Monk stays hot hitting a trey early. UK opens a 13-6 lead with their defense putting Duquesne on lockdown. Duquesne is 2-11 to start the contest.

Oh no, not again was exactly what the sparse crowd at Commonwealth Stadium and Wildcat fans across the land was thinking after watching Austin Peay jump out to a 7-0 lead after one quarter of play. Things could have been much worse as Austin Peay marched down the field on the opening drive to the UK 12 but threw an interception. UK could not capitalize and had to punt after gaining just 4 yards. Austin Peay would again march down the field and score on a 17 yard rush from Kente Williams.
