UK finished their exhibition portion of their schedule with a 93 point victory over Asbury. The Cats led at the half 88 – 25. The game was never in doubt as the Wildcats scored early and often and didn’t let up. The Cats lead did hit the century mark before Asbury put up some garbage points to end the contest. Fox led UK with 25 while Mulder tossed in 20 points. 8 players scored double figures and every Cat scored without any Wildcat playing 20 minutes in the game. Asbury took a ridiculous 49 (3) pointer attempts in an effort to score in bunches. Unfortunately for them, they only made 8 of 49 (3) point attempts.

UK had Georgia on the run and unfortunately in what has become a much too familiar happening, UK had a 3rd quarter meltdown where they lost a fumble and tossed an interception to keep Georgia alive. UK’s defense was strong most of the game, but being on the field alot in the second half wore them down and allowed Georgia to move down the field to get in to field goal range. It was a disappointing loss for  a UK team that had turned their season around. The Cats have at least one more very winnable game this season to get to the coveted Bowl Eligible 6 wins.

UK Exhibition vs Clarion 10-30-16

Starting off for UK and the 2016-2017 Season, Fox, Adebayo, Briscoe, Gabriel and Willis. UK starts of a little slow with an early 11-7 lead, led by Willis with 5 Gabriel with 4 and Fox chipping in with 2. Clarion showed press early but Fox beat it easily by outrunning the defense. With Fox handling the ball, teams will be hard pressed to put any pressure on UK. Continue reading UK hammers Clarion 108-51 in exhibition game

Bluegrass Sports Nation traveled to Johnson Central for a matchup of the #1 3A – Belfry at #1 4A Johnson Central. It didn’t take long for the fireworks to start as Johnson Central broke a run for 80 yards on the first play from scrimmage. This was followed up by a Belfry fumble recovery returned for a touchdown to tie the score at 7-7. The teams would go back and forth with Johnson Central making crucial errors that could have gave them the game momentum, but a fumble at the 1 yard line and an interception in the red zone late in the game doomed them. Belfry would capitalize with an 88 yard kick off return for a touchdown that would seal the fate of Johnson Central.
