Week 3- Bluegrass Sports Nation Game of the week: Knott County Central Patriots vs. Perry County Central Patriots.
Week #3 of the KHSAA High School football occurred this past weekend. Bluegrass Sports Nation has chosen a game of the week with Perry Central battling Knott Central, in which we offer complete media coverage of the action on the field. The coverage includes pre- game interviews with the coaches from each school, videos of each team entering the field, progress via social media during games, quarterly updates, excellent photography work from Brendon Miller, and an article detailing the game action. The Hazard Bulldogs opened the season at home against class 5A Harlan County Black Bears. The game is featured as the Bluegrass Sports Nation game of the week. Hazard finished as Class A Runner up in the 2016 season with a 12 and 3 record, Harlan County is coming off a 4 and 7 season where they were defeated in the first round of the playofffs by Pulaski County. Although this was Hazard’s first game of the season, Harlan County entered the game with one game under its belt defeating the Ashland Blazers in the opening weekend of high school football.
The race to the chase continued today at Kentucky Motor Speedway in Sparta, Kentucky. The seventh annual Quaker State 400 was held today, bringing in large crowds and some of the best drivers in modern day racing. The race marked driver Dale Earnhardt JR. last time driving in Kentucky as it was announced earlier in the year that he was retiring from competitive racing at the end of the racing season.

The smell of burnt tires, racing fuel and engines tuned to the max while blazing through the one and a half mile track creates a great weekend that is attended annually by thousands of spectators from across the country.

NASCAR returns to Bristol for the annual Spring race. The Xfinity Series of NASCAR was held today at the Bristol Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee. Bluegrass Sports Nation was there in attendance to cover the race. Bluegrass Sports Nation continues to strive to cover all sports and provide the public with excellence in sports coverage. The race was attended by 2 members of the Bluegrass Sports Nation Coverage team. Larry Robinson and myself David Leveridge were both in attendance covering the race. The South Regional Championship game in Memphis, Tennessee featured 2 of the most successful teams in College Basketball history. Kentucky and North Carolina are 2 of the biggest name programs in College Hoops. North Carolina is the #1 seed in the South Region with a record of 30 Wins and 7 losses. UNC is on a current 3 game win streak. UNC Entered today’s game against the Cats with a big win over Texas Southern.
David Leveridge- Bluegrass Sports Nation Beat Writer Indianapolis, Indiana The quest for Championship number 9 continued today in Indianapolis, Indiana. Kentucky took on the Wichita State Shockers. Kentucky is the #2 seed in the South Region, Wichita is the #10 seed in the South Region. Both teams advanced with wins in Fridays opening round games, Kentucky played in state school Northern Kentucky University, KY won this game by 9 points which 79-70 in a game that was closer than anticipated. Wichita advanced with a win over the Dayton Flyers, Wichita won this game by 6 points, 64-58. Basketball hysteria is a common theme during the month of March in Kentucky. People from all over the country get involved in the NCAA Tournament and Kentucky is one of the higher seeds in the Tourney, with the fans not only expecting final fours but National Championships. Kentucky has a rich tradition and has a rabid fan base that packs arena’s and is always one of the top ranked teams in the NCAA Tournament.
