The Night Cap of the Champions Classic, concluded with another battle of the blue bloods.  Kentucky vs Kansas two of the winningest programs in College Basketball history, battled it out in Chicago, Illinois at the United Center the Home of the NBA Chicago Bulls.  The game featured two team’s currently undefeated and both Nationally ranked in the top ten. BATTLE OF THE BOBCATS: BELL COUNTY DEFEATS BREATHITT COUNTY 48-8 IN THE KHSAA CLASS 3 STATE FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS.

The regular season of KHSAA high school football has concluded, and the playoffs have begun.  Bluegrass Sports Nation continues our game of the week coverage, with the coverage of the state football high school playoffs.  Tonight’s game of the week featured the battle of the Bobcats, Bell County vs Breathitt County competing in the class 3A playoffs.  Both programs were once prominent programs with both winning several State Championships in Football, but have struggled recently.  Bell County entered tonight’s game with a six win and four loss season, finishing in fourth place of their district.  Breathitt County struggled early in the season losing the first five games, before winning four out of the next five.  Breathitt County finished the regular season with a four win and six loss campaign, finishing as the district runner up.   Continue reading BATTLE OF THE BOBCATS: BELL COUNTY DEFEATS BREATHITT COUNTY 48-8 IN THE KHSAA CLASS 3 STATE FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS.

Kentucky opened their pre- season exhibition schedule with the Thomas More Saints.  Although, the game wasn’t pretty UK still prevailed with a forty -two point victory, Kentucky 103 / Thomas More 61.  Kentucky started 5 freshmen in the scrimmage starting #00, Quade Green, #03 Hamidou Diallo, # 04 Nick Richards, #5 Kevin Knox, and #25 PJ Washington.  Kentucky fans have seen the Wildcats on the floor twice this season, Big Blue Madness, and the Blue and White game, both have been scrimmages amongst teammates.   Continue reading Kentucky Opens Exhibition play with a rout over Thomas More Saints: Kentucky 103- Thomas More Saints 61.

The excitement of Kentucky Basketball debuted tonight Friday, The Thirteenth 2017 @ the Historic Rupp Arena.  Since Kentucky lost in the Elite 8 of the NCAA Basketball tournament in March of this year, this date has been anticipated for a long time.  Big Blue Madness is the official start to the College Basketball season as this is the first time all year the public gets to see UK on the court.  Other schools such as Duke, Kansas, North Carolina all hold similar events, but the hype and anticipation of Big Blue Madness is unique making Kentucky the gold Standard of College Basketball.   Continue reading UK Basketball – Big Blue Madness 2017: The premiere practice for all of College Basketball.
