Saints hammer Bengals – Photo by Brendon Miller – BSN

November 11, 2018 – Cincinnati, Ohio – CASEY ALLEN – Bluegrass  Sports Nation

It was a monumental task for the Bengals. They came into the game on pace to break the single season record for most yards given up defensively.  Definitely not the best time to play a future 1st ballot Hall of Famer in Drew Brees who has set just about every passing record the NFL has.  If that wasn’t tough enough, the Saints have a two-headed monster behind Brees in Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara. Playoff football isn’t easy. It doesn’t matter if you are a one seed or if you barely made the playoffs.  The fact is, everyone is 0-0 to start the post season and it is win or go home!  Survive and advance, or Lose and Watch.  It would be a lesson that many would learn the hard way on Friday night.  Breathitt cruised to a 48-6 victory over the Magoffin County Hornets on the River Bank to end their regular season in a penalty marred game.  Although Breathitt lit up the score board, Breathitt Head Coach Kyle Moore knows that eliminating penalties is a must for the Bobcats to be successful in the playoffs, “The game got a little ugly for us in the second quarter. High School Football – BOBCATS LOOK to FINISH the REGULAR SEASON STRONG

October 18, 2018 – CASEY ALLEN – Bluegrass Sports Nation Breathitt Football Columnist

Breathitt, after starting the season 0-3, has completely taken the Region by storm by winning six (6) straight games and capturing their first district crown since 2013.  The name Breathitt, carries weight in the Mountains, this group of Bobcats are now known.  The Six (6) straight wins also mark the program’s first winning season since 2013.  After making a statement by beating a 6-1 Powell County team 50-34 to snatch the District crown, it would be easy to have a let-down.  Coach Moore and the Bobcats will look to avoid that as they host a hungry Magoffin County team on Friday Night at Mike Holcomb Athletic Complex.
