Since then, they have been outscored 72-7 in losing at Florida 45-7 following a 44-35 debacle at home to Southern Miss. The first quarter got off to a rough start for Kentucky.  The Cats came out on offense, barely mustering 4 yards on their first series capped off by a blocked punt by Southern Miss.  The Golden Eagles offense capitalized on receiving the ball with a short field and turned the opportunity into the game’s first score putting Southern Miss. up 7-0.  The Cats evened the score on their third series with Drew Barker hitting Jeff Badet on a quick screen and Badet took the pass 72 yards for the score, tying the game tied at 7-7 with just over 6 minutes left in the 1st quarter.  The Golden Eagles took over after the kick-off, but went 3 and out.  The Cats took over and two plays later Drew Barker hit Garrett Johnson for 43 yards and a score, putting the Cats in the lead 14-7.  After a J.D. Harmon interception, Kentucky took over on their next drive on their own 35.  Several plays later, Drew Barker hit Kayaune Ross in the back of the end zone for a 9 yard touchdown pass, putting the Cats up 21-7 at the end of the 1st quarter.   Continue reading FOOTBALL CATS BEGIN SEASON WITH DISAPPOINTING LOSS TO SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI

wildcat 1By Ricky Blair

November 28, 2015 – Another disappointing loss to Louisville has ended the Kentucky football season.  With a promising 4-2 start, it looked like the Wildcats might finally get over the hump and have a good year, but the wheels fell off the wagon and the Wildcats lost five of their last six games.  So now all eyes turn to what needs to be done to correct the problem and help UK get over the hump.  What is it that would help Kentucky move from continually bad football?  Continue reading College Football – UK Football Should Hire Coach of Common Sense

Rivalry games bring out the best and the worst in teams. Saturday’s game between the Louisville Cardinals and the Kentucky Wildcats did just that. Kentucky needed just one win to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2011. Louisville, already bowl eligible, was playing for bragging rights as well as their fifth straight victory in the series. For the 2nd straight season, UK came out of the gates really well. And for the 2nd straight year, the wheels have come off. After a 4-1 start this year, they have lost 4 in a row to drop to 4-5. Last season they went 5-1 before closing out the season with 6 straight losses to finish the season 5-7. It is unclear what the problem is other than it is the SEC and the toughest conference in the Nation.  UK has been embarrassed  in their last three games and look like a team that has thrown in the towel. They have a chance to finish strong by winning their last three games which on paper are winnable. Continue reading College Football – UK Wildcats Season Collapse for 2nd Straight Year
