LEXINGTON – The Bluegrass Sports Commission (BSC) named Kentucky’s Tyler Ulis Most Valuable Player award of today’s men’s basketball game between the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville. Ulis also took home the award last year and becomes the first two-time recipient of the award since its inception in 2010. By Ricky Blair – Lexington, KY – Cats turned up the heat in the second half and cruised to a 72-58 win over the visiting Arizona State Sun Devils.

Kentucky struggled throughout the first half, limping into the locker room and nursing a one-point lead at the half.  The Wildcats caught fire in the second half, led primarily by freshman Isaiah Briscoe, who scored nine straight points as a renewed energy fired up the young Cats.  In one of the better halves of the year, the Cats outscored the Sun Devils 40-27 in the final 20 minutes.  Continue reading College Basketball – Kentucky Finds Second Gear, Beats Arizona State

Duke is the reigning National Champions and UK has 4 Final Four appearances under Coach Cal. Although it is a matchup UK fans savor against the hated Blue Demons, it it too early to make this a do or die game or make the winner the team to beat this season. In fact, UK is still in the, “getting to know you”, phase of the season. They will, like all Calipari teams, get better as the season goes along.
