Purdue Deals Louisville their First Loss 66 – 57

Four games and four wins to start the season for the No. 17 Louisville Cardinals, but against inferior competition.  The Cards traveled to West Lafayette to take on the Purdue Boilermakers in their first road game.  They learned just how tough it is to play in a hostile environment especially with some of the signs in the stands that may were not so subtle reminders of the scandals U of L has faced.  I am also pretty sure some things were said that probably were not so nice either. Lamar Jackson couldn’t wait to get back on the field to face Kentucky after last season’s humiliating loss in the regular season finale.  He committed four turnovers in last season’s loss, including a fumble inside the Kentucky ten yard line in the final two minutes.  That fumble led to Kentucky kicking a game-winning field goal to defeat the heavily favored Cardinals. The much anticipated annual grudge match between the CATS and the CARDS, turned into a rout at Kroger Field this afternoon, as CARDS quarterback Lamar Jackson looked the part of a possible repeat Heisman winner.  THE CARDS hammered the CATS 44 to 17 in a game that was not effectively that close.  THE CATS knew coming in that they would have to try to slow down Jackson the powerful CARD offense, but the game plan simply did not work.     Continue reading College Football – CARDS SHOW SUPERIORITY – TAKE BACK GOVERNOR’S CUP

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville has parted ways with associate head men’s basketball coach Kenny Johnson, terminating his employment per the provisions in his contract.  The university will have no further comment on this personnel matter. April of 2009 brought the news that Rick Pitino was the center of an extortion scheme with Karen Sypher and was called on the FBI to investigate the case.  During the trial Pitino testified that he had an extramarital affair with Karen Sypher.  He claimed he only had sex with Sypher once in 2003 and also admitted that he gave Sypher $3,000 to have an abortion.  Sypher was sentenced to 87 months in prison for the extortion scheme.   Continue reading Darkness at the University of Louisville
