(Mt. Carmel) – On Tuesday evening, February 11, 2014, at approximately 11:46p.m., Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard received a report of a fight in the Mt. Carmel community of Breathitt County. The caller advised that a male subject had been stabbed during the altercation.
Troopers and EMS responded to 2390 KY Highway 541, where they located Scottie Armstrong. Mr. Armstrong had been stabbed in the back, and advised that his former girlfriend was the perpetrator. Further investigation found that Scottie Armstrong was involved in a physical confrontation with another male, when Misty Campbell allegedly stabbed him twice in the back, rendering him incapacitated.
Scottie Armstrong was initially taken to Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, by McIntosh Ambulance. He was later transferred to University of Kentucky Medical Center, where he is currently listed in stable condition. Misty Campbell was charged with one count of Assault 1st Degree, and was lodged in the Three Forks Regional Detention Center. This incident remains under investigation by KSP Post 13 in Hazard.
