Class 1A SUPER “7”

Nothing changed as all 7 teams won this weekend. Hazard looked impressive against Letcher Central and Harlan shined against out of state power Thomas Walker, Va.  Beechwood continues to be the team to beat and the number 1 ranking is theirs until someone knocks them off.

Class 2A SUPER “7”

Leslie County was finally scored on by Williamsburg this weekend, but their defense continued to shine and now have only given up 13 points now in 3 games. Mayfield, Danville and Lexington Christian still remain the top teams with McClean and Leslie making a push. It is hard to move up when the teams above you do not lose.

Class 3A SUPER “7”

It looks like it is a 3 team race with Corbin squeaking past Russell to move in to 2nd place. Corbin went to Clay County and dismantled Clay County. Belfry remains the class of 3A. Russell, Corbin and Clay have separated themselves from the rest of the division.

Class 4A SUPER “7”

This Division is crowded with contenders top to bottom with several teams battling to get in to top 7. Collins is exciting to watch and putting up plenty of points. Hopkinsville is still strong but Boyd, Johnson Central and Franklin-Simpson are still the cream of the crop.

Class 5A SUPER “7”

Bowling Green held on to the top spot with a win over St. Xavier, but Madison Southern is knocking on the door after a 40-0 win over Western Hills. Bullitt Central showed their defense is going to be tough to beat after another win only giving up 8 points. Dixie Heights and South Oldham joined the Super 7 this week.

Class 6A SUPER “7”

Dupont Manual, hangs on to the top spot but Trinity, Simon Kenton Ryle and several others are working with 3-0 records and have a chance to challenge for the top of the class. The Division is going to get interesting in the next couple weeks and should weed out some teams as their schedules get much stronger.
