The Pre-District portion of the Breathitt schedule this year was tough.  To begin the season, the Bobcats dropped their first three games, but just as a boxer has to do, the Bobcats kept coming.  The Bobcats have taken the opposing teams’ best punch and have stood their ground.  Week after week, Breathitt continues to improve.  Winners of their last three games the Bobcats are now becoming a team that very few will want to play. September 20, 2018 – JOHN RADER – Bluegrass Sports Nation Guest Columnist

Saturday Night’s showdown in Kroger is huge for the CATS.  To me, this is the game that could possibly push the University of Kentucky’s football program to the next level and take us from a good year to a great year!  Yes, Mississippi State is ranked 14th in the Nation, have won 8 out of the last 9 meetings with the CATS, have beat us more in Commonwealth Stadium than they have in StarkVegas, and we are 10 point underdogs, but, in my opinion the spread is generous.  Continue reading College Football – CATS HOST BULLDOGS IN SEC SHOWDOWN

Breathitt is coming off an impressive come from behind victory over the Leslie County Eagles.  Leslie jumped out on the Bobcats 12-0 to start the second half.  Many teams would have folded up their tent and went home, but the Breathitt Bobcats did the exact opposite.  They thrived in the situation, leaning on each other and showing what kind of character they have by fighting their way to a 22-19 victory. 1A Hazard (2-1) plays at home and tries to get back on track after a tough loss to Somerset. The Bulldogs host 2A Prestonsburg (0-4). Prestonsburg has not had the start new Head Coach Brandon Brewer wanted and this matchup with Hazard will not help things.
